The accomodation and Ranch were superb. The best I've been to
in 30 years. The Game was plentiful and the ranch scenery was breath
taking.
The owners were so kind and friendly it felt just like
home. I would recommend this to anyone of all ages and class.
Comments on guide:
Never had any better, most frienly and accomdating - Bet dry trackers
I've ever seen.Their care of trophy after the kill was great.
Meat locker cleanlness was great. The Ansley's of
Red Canyon Ranch should be nominated as "Outfitter of the year".

We made all the arangement for our hunt sight unseen and had no idea
what to axpect on our arrival at the ranch. I was so pleased with
the warm and friendly
greeting that put us all at ease. To see the game driving in
and then the beautiful Lodge,. I had expected to stay in a bunkhouse
at best and was speechless when
we were led inside and shown the accomidations. Frin iyr arruvak ti
iyr deoartyre we were treated as friends. The stories an laughs around
the fire rind, the hunting
videos in that huge living room with all the mounted heads and cozy
fireplase and especially the find meals. When I recall the hunting
I get goosebumps at the age of 84
I didn't know what to expect. I fired my 30.06 three tiems.
Once on the range ( I was a sniper in the Marine Raiders in WWII).
My second shot dropped a coyote,
my third shot dropped a 7x6 bull which the crew located for me.
WHAT A THRILL FOR AN OLD MAN. Believe me when I say this was my hunt
of a lifetime.
We took one Bull four cows all one shot kills. When I commented
about it my youngest grandson siad"What did you expect Grandpa? You
taught us all how to shoot!

Donnie & Carol,
Just a note to thank you for an extremely enjoyable experience during my
first Antelope Hunt last weekend. The hunt was conducted in a very, orderly
& safe manner. The courtesy extended by the entire Ansley family &
staff was much appreciated. Lots of laughs & great stories. The whole
experience will definitely be placed among the top of my “Moment &
Memory” list. I will definitely be one of your ambassadors to my hunting
friends. I would highly recommend an Antelope hunt at Red Canyon Ranch
to anyone regardless of their experience level. Donnie even put me on a
good goat, I rest my case. Thanks again for the courtesy & the
experience. Looking forward to an Elk hunt in 2005.

To: Donnie & Carol Ansley, Red Canyon Ranch P.O
Box 1977 Moriarty, NM 87035Donnie, Carol,
I just wanted to take a few moments to thank you for a fun and successful
hunt. My guide, Robert, did a very good job of taking care of me
in the field. It is evident that he has hunting in his blood.
I picked up several tips on animal behavior while we were out and took
home some great memories; at one point we stood quietly and watched a deer
fawn lying in the cedars. While not a part of our elk hunt, it was
a memorable scene.
The elk bulging in the trees makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up, and the bulls sparring and horns rattling was exciting. During one stalk, we were using the cedar trees to mask our approach and two 6 X 6 bulls passed so close to our clump of cedars that we could smell them. They went on, never knowing that we were within a few feet of them; what a memory!
Of course taking home a very large bull was a lot of fun, too. The folks at Green Valley Meats commented about how clean the meat was. (they also commented on the size, 441 pounds hanging) Robert and Wes did a very professional job of skinning and quartering the carcass and preparing it for the processor.
So, to wrap up this long-winded thank you, thanks for a good time.
It was just what I needed.
